A Dream Journal

I'd tried and failed several times to keep diaries of my day to day life but every time I made an entry, I felt I was simply repeating myself as it was all stuff I'd just already done and said. I have a knack for remembering my dreams so it came to me as the perfect hobby to try and remember my dreams and write them down the best I could. Dreams have always interested me and considering we spend much of our lives sleeping, I find it'd be a shame to forget all that time, strolling in our own subconscious.
Here is my dream journal, remembered the best I can, for your enjoyment and consideration.
(Please don't be worried by the relatively old dates in the titles of the posts. The journal is originally on paper and I'm currently typing it all up, posting it progressively from oldest to newest. This blog is still very much alive!)

Night of December 5-6, 2009

I remember playing a Game Boy game. It was colorful and of the fantasy-magical genre. It was a side-scrolling game and surprisingly hard as lots of what I was supposed to do didn't make sense. Being a dream, I'm hardly surprised.

Night of December 3-4, 2009

I remember Paula and I were being held at school, diagnosed with being insane. We had to escape and managed to outwit Papa (who seemed unrelated to me) who was guarding us and get on a bus. We were then in a huge city, particularly some poorer ethnic ghettos. We found some people who could help us. The dream then changed a little bit: Paula went out of the picture and I was helping the people I mentioned with some of their organized crime business. I was part of a team who was supposed to kill another crime boss named something like “Jaxx”. When we got to his pad, a huge, lumbering man with giant muscles came out to fight us. We didn't have any guns so we had to take him on with our bare hands. He could only really walk quickly so we were much faster than he was. As he was following me around and I was just running in circles around our car, I woke up.

Night of November 30-December 1, 2009

I remember going around a hospital. I also remember an outdoor-y place like Yosemite.

Night of November 28-29, 2009

I remember driving. It wasn't really a race but I was driving a really nice car through different cities and freeways through the countryside. I think it was in the US because everyone was driving on the right-hand side. At the same time, I think I was testing different safety measures (like ABS, etc.) for a company. After a while, a woman came in the car to write the results of the test. As she was, I drove off a massive hill and flew over a thousand feet over another road. We landed near some trees next to that freeway. We were perfectly ok (Papa and Natasha were then there somehow). As I hitched a ride, I woke up.
Second dream. I remember playing in an arcade with Mama. I was playing a game which was a mix of skidoo, pinball, and pachinko. It was very fun. Putting money in a slot released a pinball and it bounced around into different slots. If it went in a certain slot, it came out a hole near a pinball paddle and you could try to hit it into the slot you wanted. The relative positions of the slots and the paddle made the best shots hard to get. As I used up my money or tokens we went to look for a different game. I saw Rémy G. in the arcade. Just as I remembered that I had forgotten to get my tickets from the previous machine, I woke up.

Night of November 26-27, 2009

I remember waking up and getting ready for school. We were running late. Now I just have to do it all over again.

Night of November 25-26, 2009

I remember basically playing Fallout 3. I was in an underground facility. Part of it was shaped like a giant ring and as I went around in a circle, I woke up.

Night of November 23-24, 2009

I remember thinking about the drugs and spiderwebs experiment. The one where they game marijuana (for a simple, messed up web) and crack (a fast, confused web) to spiders and looked at their webs, comparing them to normal ones.

Night of November 22-23, 2009

I remember being in a large shopping center with a food court. It was Mama's birthday and we rented out a big indoor arboretum. It had a huge roof and everything from a big pond, huge trees, to a hill covered with bonsais. She wanted to show us (me & Natasha) how she could catch us. She did and it was because the ground was very porous with roots everywhere and she had mastered the technique. We only stayed in there for a few minutes although she said it cost something like “90 bucks”. We went back to the main room of the mall, which looked like the middle of Seramonte but with a statue or fountain in the middle. I bought some fried chicken and walked around by myself for a while. I saw Nicholas Sub. and he explained something on Facebook. My hands were smelling weird from the chicken and maybe some moisture in the arboretum. I happened to walk by Lucio as he said the same thing about his hands. As we walked together to the bathrooms to wash our hands, I woke up.

Night of November 21-22, 2009

I remember being in a large video game store. I think it was my birthday and Mama wanted to go do something fun. I was looking through a big book with the reviews of all the games. I then had to go to the bathroom and woke up.

Night of November 20-21, 2009

I remember playing something like Pokemon. It was all 3-D and I was using the map, looking around at the different cities. They were very high-tech, modern cities with massive buildings, some even floating, and giant, complicated on and off ramps with cars going at over 150 mph. I zoomed in on one which just looked like a bunch of on and off ramps but along one of the roads leading to this, was a small city. Suddenly a huge construction vehicle came up the road I mentioned. This truck was as tall as the Eiffel Tower as its undercarriage and tires straddled the road with each wheel on the service lanes of the road. I zoomed up to it and appeared inside, taking control. I let it go along the road for a while. The truck seemed to get smaller and by the time I got to the big city, which was London, it was the size of a Hummer. I got out and walked around and Papa appeared. I remember walking around some quiet streets of London with Papa. It was late, no one else was around and we were just talking. We then got onto a boat some hour and I noticed the top of a whale next to it. It made a noise and slammed its tail fin down making the boat rock violently. Natasha then appeared with us and I wanted to see the London Eye because it would be all lit up. (The boat was on the Thames) We kept walking and the dream shifted to be like a movie. I saw a crime boss in a bar receive a cat from his assistant. He put it down and told one of his girls to play music slowly. The cat stood up on two legs and danced.

Night of November 19-20, 2009

I remember, like a movie, watching a woman as she got chased around by a crazy assassin. It was set in fully modern times, it a sort of dystopian society. The assassin was more of a crazy serial killer and was amazing at what he did. It's very hard to remember the story but it was long and complicated. Before this, I remember talking with Bevan in San Francisco. I think that the latter dream morphed eventually directly into the former. The former wasn't actually a bad dream per se — just stressful.

Night of November 17-18, 2009

I remember correcting a paper in class at school. It was Marie B.'s. She was mad at me — maybe because I had marked something as wrong on her paper. We were near the teachers' lounge and she was walking up the stairs towards the laboratories as I woke up.

Night of November 16-17, 2009

I remember being at school. Lots of Spanish students were there. I then had to write an essay in Spanish.

Night of November 15-16, 2009

I remember the dream, at the end at least, had to do with an enormous, but truly epic, ancient Chinese battle. The ships were all flowing extremely fast down the river with a strong current. Huge towers had people on top of them and big monsters throwing spears. The “good guys” looked like soldiers from the movie Red Cliff. The “bad guys” looking exactly like the enemies from the Xbox 360 game Mini Ninjas. The entire invasion was like a movie; I wasn't anywhere. Meanwhile, or slightly after, the dream followed two guys trying to get somewhere. They might have been time-travelers and stuck there. Or stuck “then”. I really only remember the end of the dream but that includes a funny encounter they had with a crazy door guard named Sabastien or Damier or something. While the battle was taking place, our two heros wanted to use it as a distraction to escape from the village (which was being attacked by the “good guys”. This army was led by a young empress, though a narrator, or at least a voice in my head, said that the impressive attack was doomed to fail because a disease had secretly began to spread in her ranks.) Sometime and somewhere in all this, I wake up.

Night of November 13-14, 2009

I remember lots of weird little things. Going around SF at night, Windsor Castle, the ponds in Golden Gate Park, an internet cafe, and some other things. I don't remember how they all fit together really...

Night of November 12-13, 2009

I remember taking the school bus. I was near Half-Moon Bay with a few friends from the year above from Culham. There was a really weird spider they wanted me to get rid of. It was small, and had a big transparent abdomen. Inside was a dark purple liquid. It wasn't full so there were bubbles inside. Underneath, where the legs attach, it was as if a “panel” of its exoskeleton was removed. Underneath were veins and things that looked like wires. They were brightly colored. The spider was shy and hung from the web when left alone. Thinking of a way to capture it in something so I could send it somewhere for scientists or entomologists or whoever to study it, I wake up.

Night of November 11-12, 2009

I remember being somewhere and chatting on something like the Facebook chat. I wasn't using a computer but the messages just floated above the ground like holograms. I was in some sort of warehouse district of a city — I think it was San Francisco. I was chatting mostly with Chloë K., Alexandra E., and Daniel B.. It then morphed into some sort of geography class with Mr Martin. I could see them but I heard everyone discussing population and immigration. I could say stuff too so it was like being on the phone. I got home (not really any house I've ever been to but most like the apartment in San Francisco, in some respects and angles). Though I could still hear Moritz K. talking about demographics, I had to shoot a big robot that had gotten in my house and was trying to kill me. It looked a little like a Sentry Bot from Fallout 3 but it was much tougher. The dream began to look more and more like Capital Wasteland and less like the sunny, bright, warm city I was in before. I remember targeting a Super Mutant in V.A.T.S. and it kept changing its name with things like “Jeanne and Harold's Stepsister after the birthd...”. With everything getting that familiar sunset-orange tint, I wake up.
I remember being around the Sunset at night. It must have been very early in the morning. Not a soul was up. I got on a bus and chatted with the bus driver. She was about forty-five. By the time we got to Market Street, it was daytime. I got off there and walked around a bit. It was pretty crowded. I talked to and helped a lot looking French blind man. He wanted me to stay with him and chat but I had to be somewhere. I saw the time and started to run down the sidewalk. I entered a museum and walked quietly through the exhibits. It was a history museum about English kings and queens. I found my class in an activity room. They were all finishing up sitting at computers after having listened to something (there were headphones plugged into the computers) and seen the exhibits. They had filled out a questionnaire. (The same kind that we got when our Málaga exchanges came and we went to the castles. They were just history questions and we had to look for the answer in the museum.) I took mine out, which was blank, of course, and wasn't sure whether I should turn it in or not and say I did later. It wasn't something that would be graded and they'd believe that they lost it; I convinced them. Walking around that crowded computer room, I wake up.

Night of November 9-10, 2009

I remember choosing a stove for my future apartment. There was a big overlying story about a woman I had to keep asking and nearly pester to get some information out of. The entire world wasn't the same as the real one. Everything was a bit more dangerous and less organized. Like Fallout 3 but not nearly as extreme. I also remember being on a bus and cuddling up with Lucie C. (sorry Paula). I kept worrying and stressing as I knew we would come up to Paula's stop and she'd get on soon.

Night of November 7-8, 2009

I dreamt I was going to get married. It was in a park and there was a large building there. I think it was in some sort of community center. I had forgotten my suit so I had to run back home and get it. Running back, I saw Alexandra E. trying out for something in the FBI. It could have been a work experience position or even some sort of job. She and maybe thirty others had just finished a swimming trial in a pond (resembling the pseudo-lakes in Golden Gate Park). I also saw Camille H., Margaux S., and Solène W. relaxing on the grass. It was a beautiful sunny day with a gentle breeze. Walking down the hill the center and pond-thing were on, and still consolidating in my head the idea of getting married, I wake up.
